Head Over Stiletto Heels

Hello there!

I wrote a blog post over at Romancing the Genres entitled Head over Stiletto Heels about my trip to the Bata Shoe Museum to check out the fabulous shoe collection.

In addition to the pics in the other post, since I have more photos of celebrity shoes I’m sharing them exclusively with my subscribers—bonus content!

From Mad Men, the TV series set in the 1960s, here are character “Don Draper’s” shoes beside his former wife “Betty’s” blue suede pumps. Apparently the costume designers often dressed Betty in blue to reflect her melancholic personality.

Marilyn Monroe wore these red heels on a trip to Montreal, Canada in 1957. Elizabeth Taylor wore this silver set of Halston heels in the mid-1980s.

Award-winning actress and singer Diahann Carroll donated these to the museum. She was the first African-American actress to play the lead in a television series.

And let’s not forget the men…

Canadian actor and singer Michael Bublé’s Italian leather loafers feature decorative red stitching on the toes.

Pop star Justin Bieber donated a pair of Supra Skytop II high tops.

I hope you enjoyed this virtual visit to the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto, Canada. Plus be sure to see the pictures in the original post at Romancing the Genres.

Best,

Madelle
